Frequently Asked Question

LockDown Browser is a locked browser for taking quizzes in Moodle. It prevents you from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a quiz. If a Moodle quiz requires that LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the quiz with a standard web browser.LockDown Browser should only be used for taking Moodle Quizzes. It should not be used in other areas of Moodle.

HOW TO CHECK/ UPDATE RESPONDUS LOCKDOWN BROWSER?

Your Lockdown Browser will auto update while you Launch the Respondus Lockdown Browser when to begin your exam or you can manually update to the latest version of the Respondus LockDown Browser, Follow the steps below:

1. Start the Respondus LockDown Browser
2. Click the “Information” ( i ) button (LockDown Browser – Windows) or
   the “About” button (LockDown Browser – Mac) on the toolbar
3. Then click on "Check for Newer Version" button (Windows) or "Check for Update" (Mac). If an update is available, information about the update and a "Get Update" button will be displayed (unless administrator access isn't available on a computer).
4. Click the button, wait for the download to complete, and then exit the browser to complete the update.
